Odyssey Dance Company is committed to providing a high-quality recreational dance education with an emphasis on non-competitive performance opportunities. At Odyssey, dancers will be welcomed into a positive, nurturing, and energetic environment specifically tailored to encourage learning, confidence, and skill building.
Our Story
Alessandra Gironda and Leigh Blanton created Odyssey Dance Company with the mission of providing a quality education for recreational dancers of all ages and skill levels. We believe that dance doesn't need to be competitive to be valuable, which is why at Odyssey, we have two non-competitive dance programs. Our recreational program is for dancers who want to build confidence, coordination, creativity, and friendships while developing a lifelong love of movement in a fun and supportive environment. Our Travel Team Program bridges the gap between recreational and competitive dance. This program is perfect for dancers looking to take the next step in their dance journey. ODCTT aims to provide dancers with meaningful performance opportunities that foster commitment, growth, and artistry.
Class Offerings
Classical Ballet/ Pointe
A foundational discipline focusing on technique, posture, and artistic expression. Our curriculum encompasses all levels, from introduction to advanced pointe work, providing a supportive path for every dancer's journey. For the safety of our dancers, our Pointe program is by invitation only.
Contemporary
Combining elements of ballet and modern dance, this style emphasizes fluid movement and emotional storytelling. Classes explore floor work, release techniques, and improvisational skills in a professional studio setting.
Jazz & Musical Theater
High-energy training that focuses on rhythm, coordination, and stylistic versatility. Students develop strength and flexibility while learning choreography inspired by both classic stage and Broadway performance.
Tap Technique
An essential study of percussion and musicality. Our tap program focuses on precision of sound and rhythmic complexity, suitable for recreational students looking to master this traditional dance form.
Stretch & Conditioning
Designed to enhance flexibility, core strength, and injury prevention. These essential sessions help dancers of all levels build the physical resilience and range of motion required for performance and longevity.
Ballet/Tap Combo Class
Designed specifically for our dancers ages 4-10, this class introduces the fundamentals of both ballet and tap. Students will build coordination, rhythm, musicality, and technique while developing a strong foundation for advancement into Company classes. A fun and engaging way to begin a dancer's journey.
Creative Movement
Designed for dancers ages 2½–3 years old, this fun and engaging first-steps class introduces the basic movements and concepts of ballet through music, imagination, and creative play. Dancers will develop coordination, balance, listening skills, and confidence in a nurturing environment while exploring the joy of movement.
Dancers must be potty-trained to participate.
ACROBATICS
Acrobatics combines the strength and flexibility of gymnastics with the artistry of dance. Dancers will learn proper technique for skills such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands, walkovers, limbers, and tumbling progressions in a safe, structured environment. This class focuses on building strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, and confidence while encouraging each dancer to progress at their own pace.
